Exploring the Hike on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Exploring the Hike on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Spread the love

There are two ways to get to Machu Picchu. You can go the easy way by taking the train and a short bus ride or you can get there the hard way like the Incas by trekking the Inca Trail. The trek to Machu Picchu is a four-day/three-night journey which is 26 miles/45 kilometers. The hike isn’t easy due to the altitude and the mountain peaks you must climb. Even though the hike is hard but the sights along the trail are beautiful. And once you get to Machu Picchu, your sense of accomplishment of conquering the Inca Trail and standing at the Sun Gate and seeing Machu Picchu will make everything you endured on the hike worth it.

There are several tour companies that offer hikes on the Inca Trail. The tour company I used was G Adventures which provided a great guide and meals. To learn more about the hike and the beauty of the Inca Trail check out my vlog.
